Picnics at Disneyland Paris: rules and practical alternatives

Planning a picnic requires checking the park rules before packing equipment. Our earlier description of hidden lakeside picnic areas did not establish that these were authorised spaces and has been removed.
What the rules actually say
The official park rules prohibit group picnics that require equipment such as cool boxes, cooking appliances, folding tables or containers inside the parks. They identify a dedicated picnic area between the parking area and the park entrances.
This is not a basis for declaring every small snack forbidden, or for promising that any bag or food container will be admitted. Check the complete current rules for what you intend to bring and ask Disney if your situation is unclear.
Outdoor restaurant tables are available to visitors with priority for guests who purchased food in the parks. Eating and drinking are prohibited in attractions, theatres and queues. An attractive lakeside spot is not automatically a designated picnic area.
Plan the food stop as well as the walk
If you use the designated picnic area, allow time for leaving the park and follow the admission conditions for returning. Keep the plan realistic for the people carrying bags and for children who need a break.
Within Disney Adventure World, Adventure Way lists food outlets including Café Luminosity and La Terrasse Panoramique. These can be alternatives to carrying a picnic, depending on their opening hours and current offer. Compare the cost, available seating and your next activity before choosing. A kiosk purchase or restaurant reservation does not reserve a show-viewing place.
